Our History

 

Located in Montréal’s International District and part of a chain of more than 170 hotels worldwide, the InterContinental Montréal became, in 1991, the first “four-diamond” hotel in the magnificent and historic Old Montréal.

It comprises two buildings, the most recent, a unique 26-storey tower of mainly hotel rooms and suites, and the Nordheimer, dating from 1888, which houses conference and event spaces. Together they form an impressive architectural ensemble whose history has grown richer over time. The result is an indoor village covered by an impressive glass roof that can be comfortably explored in any season.

The hotel is integrated into the Centre de Commerce Mondial de Montréal, a complex of historic buildings inaugurated in 1992.
